I’m a big believer in getting someone eco friendly gifts for Christmas. And lately, there is has been an upsurge in respect bestowed upon green clothing designers. For example, in the last season of Project Runway, an eco friendly designer actually won the whole competition!

I like the idea of sending Christmas postcards instead of Christmas cards. I know that other people do too because there is a nice selection of lovely postcards out there. So why would you want to send postcards instead of cards? I thought I’d list the pros of the idea so you can make a choice if you want to send them.

Each year, we look forward to choosing our Christmas cards. I usually buy a few different styles or a variety set and then choose individual cards for those who are closest to me like my husband, best friends, and my parents. What is your Christmas card style?

Okay, I love candy canes and snowmen and other Christmas trees and other merry symbols of Christmas… but without Jesus Christ being born we wouldn’t even have this holiday. Why not celebrate that idea with Christian Christmas cards? I find that there is no better way to remind people that we are celebrating Christ’s birth than to send them a religious Christmas card.

Before you think I’m crazy for suggesting that you give someone sunglasses for Christmas let me just say that I’ve hiked in snow and gotten sunburned on my eyelids. It isn’t fun, and it can be avoided with the right pair of sunglasses. Plus, what do people seem to always need an extra pair of? Sunglasses!

Have you decorated your Christmas tree yet? If not, why not make things extra festive by preparing some of these delicious beverages while trimming the tree? Each year, my family makes it a tradition to drink egg nog. Some years I actually make it – but most of the time I just buy it. Okay, and I spike it with a little brandy, too.

When I was a child we had the tradition of decorating the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. Instead of shopping on Black Friday, my family made it a tradition to spend time together. Actually I think my mother did shop, but I don’t think we as children were awake yet!
