I can’t believe it’s that time of year. I know I started this blog back in August in anticipation for the holidays but for the first time, I can actually feel it coming. There’s a chill in the air this week that hadn’t been there before. I actually turned on the heat this morning.
With all of this thinking, I realized something. It’s time to start Christmas shopping and making sure I have enough money to actually buy Christmas gifts because I am on a tight budget. Here are some of the things I need to make sure I have money for.
- Gifts. I absolutely need to make sure I have enough money for all of my Christmas gift giving efforts. I don’t want to leave anyone out! This includes gifts for friends, family, etc. By the way, I’ll share Christmas gift ideas in some of the posts to come.
- Black Friday. This is the first day I will need to make sure I have money. I plan to take advantage of as many Black Friday deals as possible.
- Cyber Monday. I’ve never taken advantage of Cyber Monday before. Most retailers have some amazing online deals.
Since this blog is all about effectively planning for Christmas, I thought it would be helpful to start including Christmas gift ideas posts to help give you guidance. To be frank, researching these posts, writing them, and thinking about these gift ideas will help me, as well. I am often stumped as to what to get some of the people on my list.
My strategy for right now is to save enough money for gifts and then after Thanksgiving, begin shopping for Christmas in earnest. If I see a great deal or get a wonderful idea for a gift to get someone before then, I’ll go for it. But right now, I am just going to collect information and make sure I have enough money.
How about you? What is your Christmas gift idea strategy?
