Nothing says, “I’m ready for Christmas” than knitted Christmas stockings. When I was a child, I loved it when it was time to hang the Christmas stockings. Because we didn’t have a mantel (we had a wood stove) I knew that it was Christmas time when my mother would hook the stockings over the nobs of the hutch in the dining room.
Now, I am living in a house that has a mantel and I can’t wait to hang my stocking this year. These knitted Christmas stockings are extra large so there is plenty of room for gift giving. My favorites are the ones that have been knit by hand. Though, any knit stocking using festive colored yarn will do the trick.
Filling up a stocking with presents isn’t just for kids, either. In my last post I gave you some ideas for stocking stuffers for adults. It has been a long time since someone took the time to fill up a do for me. My goal this year is to gift an adult in my life with a large stocking filled with goodies. It would be wonderful if someone would do that for me, as well.
