Another part of planning for Christmas may involve meeting people for dinner and organizing Christmas functions at restaurants like your office Christmas party or a gift swap amongst friends. If this is the case, you’ll natural want to find Christmas deals at restaurants that won’t break the bank.

You have several options for finding savings.

• Local advertising. Pay attention to your “junk mail” which often contains coupons and deals for local restaurants. Instead of toss them in the trash, save them so you can get a discount. Keep an envelope so that you can keep have an organized place to keep all the coupons and sales fliers you find.

• Restaurant.com. I’ve purchased gift certificates at Restaurant.com before and they give you a phenomenal deal. You don’t need to give them away as gifts. You can buy the certificate right before you leave for the restaurant and use it yourself! Make sure you read the rules before you use them.

• Find coupons online. Another option is to look online at places like CoolSavings and see if you can find any coupons for restaurants that you like. There are other coupon sites too like

• Go directly to the restaurant. Some restaurants offer deals and incentives for their gift certificates. You can then use the gift certificates yourself or give them  as gifts. For example, Outback Steakhouse is offering a special where if you purchase $100 in gift certificates, you get a $20 bonus.

As you can see, the holiday season is filled with savings, including discounts and deals on your favorite restaurants. You can then buy these certificates for yourself or give them as gifts.
