Christmas Planning 2009 – Get Ready!

Posted by on November 21, 2009

mouse and treeOkay this is it. It’s getting to crunch time! Thanksgiving is next week so that means that Christmas planning 2009 needs to be underway ASAP. If you haven’t started getting ready now, it’s time.

Do you feel overwhelmed? Well I wanted to share with you a resource. I wish I had thought of it, it’s that good. But the Fly Lady has her Cruising Through the Holidays section all ready to go on her website. In fact, they’ve been at it for a few weeks. But as she says, you’re never behind – just start right where you are.

You can start things off by making sure you have things all set for Thanksgiving. Is the turkey defrosting? Do you have dinner reservations? That last question sounds odd but each year I find that more and more people are going  out to eat. That’s what we’re doing.

I used to do a nice Thanksgiving dinner for my family but seeing as everyone is now on the other coast well… going out will be fun. :) I do have a back-up plan. I’ll roast two cornish game hens and serve it with rice and salad (and I should buy the ingredients for an apple pie – maybe I’ll make that anyway).

Anyway, after Thanksgiving is over, most of us in the US focus almost entirely on Christmas. If you’re not having Thanksgiving dinner at your place, why not spend this week getting a jumpstart on your Christmas planning? Start shopping for gifts before the malls are a nightmare. Wrap them. You can even start decorating. No one says you have to wait – you can start doing stuff now. :)

Cheers!
